A day at kidzania!

“I want to become a doctor !” And the answer to this was, “yeah! Why not? When you grow up!” Remember these lines being repeated through out your childhood, we always wished if someone could say, “oh yes! You can become that today itself!” A dream it may sound though, but it’s turned to a beautiful reality for today’s growing generation of kids. How? Well, lets send all the credits of the same to kidzania, a theme park with hundred plus role play activities for kids. Getting famous globally for its unique theme and amazing experience with kids, kidzania has spread it’s wings in India too. Mumbai prides in having it’s very own kidzania at R city mall, Ghatkopar. A fun destination for your kids for the whole day with great lot of activities and entertainment awaits here. I was really impressed glancing through the glasses of northern wing of R city mall to catch the glimpse of this amazing new world for our kids. The rapid boarding and instructions process leads you in to explore the vast bounties of this world especially created for the kids. Lovely interior (relishingrascal.wordpress.com)

With security bracelets tightened on our wrists, and a check of 50 kidzoes (the currency of kidzania) we stepped in to the world of awesomeness. This new world seemed to never have experienced a grey day or a sunset for that matter. The beautiful blue sky and the lush green trees promised a good spring season in here even when it was raining cats and dogs outside. The glamour of the stores and the beauty of the well built buildings and offices would certainly aww you. The clean and well maintained lanes and alleys intersected at proper points giving way to more incredible stops to explore. The special seats and lounge rooms for parents are made for convenience too, not that you’ll need them, all thanks to the excitement of watching your kids play multiple roles all in a day. The first step was encashing the cheque at the Yes bank for some kidzoes notes and moving ahead for the tasks to complete. All these process including encashing the cheques needed a brief scanning of your bracelets.

All the tasks you did are either plus or minus, when you chose a plus signed task, you get to earn for your services. While if you chose the latter, you tend to spend some of your kidzoes. Hence, the balance seems proportional and exciting too. This gave my kids the understanding that whenever you need to spend somewhere, you must earn in order to be able to do that. My clever little money minded chaps planned to earn loads and later to spend them generously. Hence, they went for being a dabba wala first. This gave them an opportunity to deliver some dabbas across the kidzania city and earn some kidzoes in return of it. So, along with a white coat, a safety cap and a typical dabba wala cap, went my kids with a cart to collect and deliver the dabbas. Wherever they went, they were greeted with a cheerful ki (Hi in their language) and a victory sign to go with it. This task took no more than fifteen minutes by the kids at a regular pace. This done, they went to get some knowledge on examination and testing of fruits. For this they have to set off collect and examine some fresh kiwis and write the results of it on a writing pad all in a group of three. Again, this led them earning some more kidzoes. This one took approximately 15 minutes of time.

After this they loved being able to spend some kidzoes to go for a kidzania certified culinary course at bajaj electricals school. With the help of a talented and helpful chef, they prepared a healthy chocolate roll with in 20 minutes and along with a certificate for their efforts. Culinary course (relishingrascal.wordpress.com

Boys and their love for cars! Just can’t separate the two. Well, kidzania helped to bond them more. My son went for a maruti driving school course of 20 minutes spending some kidzoes and returning with a kidzania driving licence. Learning driving (relishingrascal.wordpress.com)

Fashion show and modelling is what girls aspire the most. My daughters after spending some kidzoes, got to be trained for a fashion show and walk the ramp in a theatre in some lavish and cool clothes with an astounding style

Fashion show training (relishingrascal.wordpress.com) Shoping at big bazaar with no mummy to nudge and shout is what my baby loved the most out there. A trolley full of toys and the easiest way to pay in the mall is what she actually experienced the first time ever.

The aspiring doctors, my kids loved being a doctor and getting all the knowledge you needed to be for the same with in ten minutes and later using that knowledge to tend to an ailing patient bringing him back to the hospital in an ambulance. Doctor training (relishingrascal.wordpress.com)

My kids were overwhelmed to try out preparing mango Frooti exactly the way it’s made at the factory and later getting a complimentary pack of the same within 20 minutes and even earning some kidzoes. Well, haven’t we got so many kidzoes notes to take care of? So, we opted to get a debit card instead from yes bank and use that. It was pretty easy with just depositing your kidzoes in the bank and getting your bracelet scanned and yo, we get th debit cards with our names and details in it. So, here we took off to become a dentist by examining a patient’s tooth from nearby and do the needful tasks to cure the same with in just 20 minutes. Kids enjoyed most being an RJ at radio city and letting their fans hear about them and a brief information on the ongoing festival of Ganesh chaturthi. RJ on Air (relishingrascal.wordpress.com)

Those Kellogg’s chocos they munched so rapidly, they never knew it took so many efforts to get it made up and packed. Well, they learnt all that and made some too at the kidzania chocos outlet within 20 minutes and spending some kidzoes. The yummy art of making a super yummy donuts was exceptional. They loved working through out tipping generous chocolate on the fresh donuts and ravishing it later. They also became an expert in making Sbarro’s delectable pizzas and Hardy’s scrumptious burgers and even try and taste their work with so much pride. Learning making a pizza (relishingrascal.wordpress.com)

These, and some more activities like delivering parcels and couriers being DHL courier person, a furniture expert in kidzania pepperfy training centre, a fireman with a proper fireman instructions class and an ambulance to ride on a real fire to extinguish, shiamak dance classes, bollywood acting school, animation centres, paddle pop ice candy making factory, parachute hair spa, camlin art and painting school, nerolac home painting, preparing cadbury dairy milk, star tv studio, parle candy house and much much more were so much fun to explore and indulge in. Woodcraft course (relishingrascal.wordpress.com)

I must say, for all the curios minds out there and those exploring little souls, kidzania is the best place to get to play all the roles they so much aspire in their life. The experiences they normally couldn’t even go near, can be experienced first hand with experts trainee staff in the most gentle way possible. The charming affectionate smile you get here is contagious plus not to forget the various add on activities according to the dates and festivals like the Ganesh chaturthi event that happened here with a thali decoration and an amazing group dance on Ganesh festival. If asked, I would strongly recommend each parent to take their kids for a jolly good time exploring these new ways at kidzania!

Magnificient monsoon menu at Chaayos!

The Indian Blogger Awards 2017

Monsoons are just magical! While the world cherish the charisma of it in the beauty of nature and flowing breeze, we foodies tend to think only about which snack would best compliment the climate and where! Grabbing a proper meal to compliment the weather always enhances its beauty, says all the foodies ever! And getting your hands on these deliceous snacks is not a cake walk, mind you!

Well, when I was already craving for a perfect snack to satisfy my growling tummy as the rains hit my window, I came across this picture on the chaayos instagram handle!

Believe me, the growling increased and I felt I should just grab it from the screen to taste this tempting yummy dish.

Ok! It was quite some time now, and my cravings were under control now, but the hunger still remained. Had to do something of it! Well, what more, adding more torture to my hunger, I got to see this on chaayos twitter page. Scrumptious, no doubt. Wish I could just snatch it from there. Cursing the already heavy flowing rains, I grabbed my rainwear and went for the bike.

Chaayos has innumerable stores across the country, Delhi being their main hub. Well, thank God they have almost ten branches in Mumbai too. I went for the chaayos, Todi mills, lower parel. A wide smile and a loud greeting that followed my entrance there lifted my mood more. This place looks cool, I thought and rushed in. A ground plus one floored outlet, with lots of table and chairs neatly arranged, some cute posters on the wall and exceptionally well designed interiors. Gazing for minutes wasn’t enough here.

Now, comes the food! The monsoon menu had paneer/chicken opened stuffed paratha, chicken kadhahi sandwich, bun samosa, barish wale pakode, chicken kulhad kulcha, kulhad jalebi and shahi chai! You know what? I ordered them all!! Sont belive it? I have pics to prove it. (I had a partner in crime to enjoy the meal with me so don’t get shocked)

The chicken open paratha was super deliceous with savoury chicken and cheese stuffed generously on top of a soft paratha. Well, don’t blame me if your mouth waters, you are reading it! The kadhahi chicken sandwich was astounding too, with chicken, sauce and veggies all pressed under the pressure of softest bread. Hmmm…. Yummy it was! The kadahi chicken kulcha( soft, battery indian bread) had chicken cooked in indian spices served in a kulhad (container made up of clay), and buttered kulcha to give it a strong competition. I think, they both have scored well here. Now comes the best, crispiest and wholesome barish wale pakode. I was actually munching it greedily enjoying the rain view outside through the doors. Paneer pakode among them were my favorite. Loved the chilli pakoda, the tallest of all but equally crunchy and yummy. The dessert consisting of kulhad jalebi made a way happily through my already full tummy! I have never before had a jalebi that’s crispy. This new crispy jalebi made me a crazy fan of it. Well, I am already full! But, what kind of indians are we, if we cannot end our conversation without sealing it with a chai! So, here comes the shahi kulhad chai. Served in a kulhad, this chai actually consisted of generous pieces of almond and strands of saffron in it. Unbelievable, isnt it? Try and have yours. You can actually devour the tea through its rich aroma before sipping it lightly over.

That was just the food during monsoon. But this place led me more curious to check what’s in store otherwise too! A curious food explorer always find their way to satisfy their curiosity in the most easiest manner. So, I actually visited almost all of chaayos outlets in Mumbai, and well, its each outlet says a different story.

Designed taking in to consideration it’s signature chai style, they decorated each outlet with a unique, impressive theme! Here, let me give you a short description of what I found so astounding about these outlets.

Monsoon, books, a strong cup of tea and your favorite palak kachori and blue berry lemon cake makes it a perfect hour spent over here. The interiors out here has pages of books everywhere you glance at, hence giving you the inspiration you need for your work at chaayos, versova.

After a movie, what you need? Exactly! Your personalised cup of tea, yummy paneer tacos and a friend to point out how you liked the movie. The same goes amazingly well at the chaayos at kurla, Phoenix. Here, they have made quite an impression by decorating the whole place with kettles and tea glasses. Hence, enhancing the beauty of the theme

While you Just want to enjoy the cool climate outside with your light cup of tea, a chocolate factory cake and chana masala, the chaayos outlet at Bandra gives you some refreshing air to enjoy with their huge outdoor seatings available. (They even have an indoor seating if you don’t like out.)

These and some more outlets, spread across the city gives your tea love a new definition. The serious way in which we take our tea cravings are carried by them too. That’s the reason they pride in preparing around twelve thousand variety of tea, (depending upon your taste too) and are still on a quest to experiment with chai some more!
