Easiest and superfast ways to prevent mosquito borne diseases!

When the competition around is strong and the need to excel is extreme, you just can’t afford to get ill at any cost! But, the main concern here is, when you are surrounded by dangerous chemicals, pollution and deadly mosquitoes, how is it possible to stay healthy and uptight always?

Moms and mosquitoes

As moms, we are always so protective of our kids, be it their well-being or their health. We make sure they get pure water, hygienic surroundings, etc. so that the increasing pollution and impurities don’t hinder their growth. But, do you know even with so much hygiene around, with greeneries that benefit you so much, with cleanliness and germ free precautions you can actually be bitten by mosquitoes?

Yes, the major cause of dangerous diseases like malaria, dengue, chikungunya and Zika virus, are mosquitoes and they can invade your surroundings at any time. No matter if it is day time or night time, if your house is clean or if it is dirty, mosquitoes can still dwell around you.

Rapid protection against mosquitoes needed

So, in this rapid lifestyle, where we don’t even have the time to visit a doctor according to the monthly schedule, can we provide guaranteed mosquito protection for our kids and family? When our kids are always in a hurry and pressure to keep on going in and out of the house, is it possible for us to keep them guarded from these mosquitoes?

The answer to this is, yes, of course! With these quick tips, mosquito protection on the go is now possible!

Full covered clothing

The best way to keep your kids protected against mosquito bites is to keep them fully covered. Opt for track suits which have full length sleeves and pants that are ankle length to hide the maximum bite area.

Regular use of sanitizer

Using hand sanitizers are one of the important ways from preventing the mosquito bites. Kids tend to regular munch something or the other within short time span and often avoid keeping their hands clean. This, results in mosquitoes being attracted to them. Hence, a regular use of hand sanitizers after each short snack would prove helpful in preventing mosquito bites.

On the go mosquito repellents

The super-fast generation nowadays needs a super-fast and an effective mosquito repellent such as the Goodknight Fabric Roll-On and the Goodknight Patches.

These products are made using 100% natural ingredients and recommended by paediatricians too. Products that work best for toddlers

Being mommy!

Having babies is the sweetest feeling in the world! But the duties and demands increase as the baby grows! The most challenging phase of motherhood is when our cute babies start toddling around the house! The naughty toddlers are unstoppable, they are always on the go, always on some important task that just can’t be left undone.

It’s surely one of the most trickiest times for moms when we know that the moment we avert our gaze, these munchkins are going to start munching anything that’s around, they are going to climb the stairs and shelves which they shouldn’t at all. Keeping them protected at home is a tough task, let alone the times when they go outdoors for an evening stroll at the park or for a visit to their aunt’s place.

The fear of mosquito borne diseases

This is the time when we have to protect them more as they are most likely to be bitten by mosquitoes which cause dangerous diseases like malaria, dengue, chikungunya and the Zika virus. These mosquitoes can strive just anywhere and everywhere and your toddlers are at a risk of getting bitten by them just as any other individual could.

Toddlers and protecting them

For grownups and babies we can take the necessary precautions to keep them safe from mosquito bites in several ways, but for toddlers, it becomes challenging as they are always running here and there and are extremely fidgety too.

My recommendation

Thus, as a mom, with a personal, satisfactory experience, I recommend Goodknight Fabric Roll-On. A simple mosquito repellent, most suitable for infants and kids which is paediatrician approved and made using natural ingredients. Just 4 dots on your child’s clothes and whoaa! Symptoms of chikungunya fever you should know

Fresh air is so important these days!

The fresh air as you open your windows early in the morning or just by gazing at the breath-taking sunset from your verandah, is such a blissful feeling! But, what worries me is the fear of insect bites and the possibility of kids being infected with dangerous diseases like dengue, malaria or chikungunya. The threats of these diseases being quite serious. In order to keep myself and my family safe from them, I made quite a big note on the symptoms of chikungunya, a rapidly increasing threat in Asian countries which leaves quite an impact on a person’s health even after being cured. I have also jotted down some ways to prevent it.

Firstly, let me inform you that chikungunya is a viral disease (genus Alphavirus) that is typically caused by the bite of Aedes mosquito and is non-transmissible from person to person. The infected Aedes mosquitoes typically breed in or around human habitations and prefer to feed on humans during the daytime, in shady areas as well as in the evening.

Hence, while you are outdoors during these times, make sure you are applying good mosquito repellent gel or cream like Goodknight Cool Gel which contains aloe vera and is a skin-safe gel. If you have children who love to play outdoors during evenings, make sure you keep them safe by applying 4 dots of Goodknight Fabric Roll-On on their clothes or simply stick Goodknight Patches on their clothes. Both the products are 100% natural and protect from these kind of mosquitoes.

Even if When you are indoors, make sure you are using a Goodknight Activ+ System to drive those mosquitoes away and stay relieved from diseases.

These are the preventive methods you should religiously follow each day to stay safe from chikungunya fever because there’s still no vaccine invented for the protection against it. The symptoms of the same are usually not visible until it’s a week after the patient is infected. According to most studies and research that I have done, the signs and symptoms typically start with chills, fever, vomiting, nausea, headache, joint pain, etc. There is also a high possibility that the fever may touch 100 to 104 degrees Celsius. It may also cause redness in the eye which means that one is likely to suffer from conjunctivitis and face difficulty in looking towards the light. This can lead to frequent and severe headaches which are also a common symptom of chikungunya that may continue for days together at a stretch.

Severe joint and body pain is quite frequent and keeps increasing as the days pass. Sometimes, the joints also swell up due to severe pain. Sometimes symptoms of Chikungunya are also known to cause rashes on the entire body which can occur frequently.

Apart from these, a patient can also experience severe case of retro – orbital pain, vomiting, diarrhoea, and meningeal syndrome which may lead to lot of weakness and dehydration.

Knowing almost all of these symptoms of chikungunya, if we notice them, we should consult our doctors immediately so that we can get proper medication as soon as possible. Suffering from this disease is be very dangerous especially, in the cases of senior citizens, children and pregnant ladies.

10 Tips for a healthy and safe pregnancy!

Pregnancy is a crucial turnover in any woman’s life! So, if you are planning a baby or are pregnant make sure you take certain precautions for the better health of yourself and the child. As mother’s health and fitness plays a key role for the foetus’ proper growth and development and the child’s birth condition. While you are at the stage of having the most prominent change in your life, make sure you take a look at these detailed tips for a better and healthy prenatal and postnatal results.

  • Essential minerals and vitamins: As soon as you get your pregnancy test positive, make sure you get yourself prescribed the best and most suitable vitamins, calcium and folic acid tablets. Although, your diet, which will now be richer in these nutrients may contain these minerals, it may not be enough for a healthy pregnancy. The proper intake of vitamins and folic acid is very essential in the early weeks of pregnancy as it helps in developing the baby’s neural cord, which later changes into the brain and spinal cord of the baby. While, if you miss these folate and vitamins supplements during pregnancy, you face a lot of problems like excessive hair fall, dry skin, etc after the birth of the child.
  • Necessary precautions: The early weeks and the mid weeks of pregnancy can be absolutely delicate. Make sure you just don’t change your positions rapidly and indulge in any vigorous exercise. Avoid weight lifting and standing for a longer period of time. Even sitting on a position that generates a lot of pressure on your pelvis area leads to miscarriages in the early weeks of pregnancy and having a lower placenta line during the mid-term.
  • Proper diet: The one common issue that most pregnant women face is morning nausea. This often stretches more than the mornings and even stays more than the first term too. Hence, it leads to certain nutrition deficiency in pregnant women. Enough of food cannot be consumed at the same time, hence follow a pattern of eating 6 to 8 times a day, within an interval of an hour and a half. Make sure you include loads of cereals in your diet( a high folic acid provider), fruits( contains more of vitamins), milk (a calcium agent) and meat, green vegetables and loads and loads of water and fluids.
  • Avoid disease causing factors: Diseases during pregnancy can be most crucial. They often lead to miscarriages or even a danger to the mother as well. If not that, it often leads to an underweight child being born with major complications too. Hence, a proper care of the pregnant woman is necessary against any disease causing factor. While consuming clean water to avoid water borne diseases is important, viral diseases can be dangerous too. Research have found that pregnant women attract more mosquitoes than a woman who’s not pregnant, this is because our breath becomes heavier and we exhale more carbon dioxide to which the mosquitoes are attracted to. Disease like malaria, dengue and chikungunya are spread by mosquitoes which is extremely difficult to manage during pregnancy. Malaria can also be passed on the placenta and thus even new born would get affected. Avoid mosquito bites at any cost, if you are heading outdoors, don’t forget to apply 4 dots of Good knight Fabric Roll-On, as it is 100% natural product & you apply it on fabric and not directly on skin. Also if you are at home during the daytime – make sure your mosquito repellent machine is turned on, we don’t usually do this but since dengue and chikungunya are caused by day biting mosquitoes it is a must to use a mosquito repellent even during the day. It’s also not advisable to clean your cat’s feces yourself, in order to avoid Toxoplasmosis which can be dangerous for pregnant women.
  • Exercise: A regular session of exercise and walk is extremely important for a pregnant women in order to deliver a healthy baby and keep herself fit even after the child birth. Research shows, pregnant women who indulge in more yoga and exercise tend to have a comparably easy natal time. While, a regular walk of at least forty five minutes is recommended by doctors at the last term of your pregnancy too.
  • Decreasing stress level: Most experts agree that a happy mother gives birth to a healthy and happy kid! Why not, the baby is the closest one to the mother during pregnancy, hence the vibes, positive or negative- tend to spread even during that time. Other than that, an increased level of stress often leads to blood pressure soaring high at the time of birth and resulting in pre-eclampsia, thus it leads to doctors opting for cesarean child birth.
  • Taking up hobbies and interests: Gaining appropriate amount of rest is also advisable to pregnant women. But you can’t just stick on to the bed to rest and gain more weight than you already are! So, better indulge in some activities that makes you believe your mind from stress and also keeps you relaxed and busy. Read some books for the coming transformation in your life and the preparations you have to make accordingly. Or just listen to good music while you bake some good nutritious cookies to have when you have mid night cravings.
  • Avoid excess citric acid: Although citric acid is called to be one of the healthy sources of essential minerals in body, but consuming excess of it during the last term of pregnancy can lead to swelling in certain parts of your body like legs, face etc. Although during the first weeks of pregnancy citric fruits and lemon are recommended for the relief of nausea, but it is better to avoid them in the later weeks as during pregnancy de-calcification is quite common and your bones and teeth are more prone to it. The high amount of citric acid present inside lemons are capable of damaging your teeth enamel and may lead to serious dental problems too.
  • Avoid excessive spices: As said before, a good diet leads to a healthy pregnancy and in the end to a healthy baby being delivered. But the cravings that pregnant women often face are incredible. This often leads to women having lots of spicy food and later complaints of heart burns and acidic reactions in urine. So, it’s better to keep your spice measures and cravings in control if you want a pregnancy that’s free of acidic problems. While, research also shows that more spicy food during pregnancy may often lead to skin reactions and a high blood pressure too.
  • Limiting the intake of sea food: While seafood is the richest source of proteins and omega 3 which is highly essential mineral for a better IQ development, it also contains a higher level of mercury. Being a toxic metal, it causes serious nervous damage in a person. Hence it’s best recommended for a pregnant woman to reduce fish intake. You can have some walnuts instead in order to attain the minerals which you cannot get due to avoiding fish consumption. Pregnancy and motherhood is tough no doubt, but taking a proper care of your health during this period is necessary too. With these tips, you cover a large portion of essential precautions needed during your pregnancy terms. And all these efforts are actually worth in the end. After all, you are carrying a bundle of joy along with you for a long period of nine months, wouldn’t you love it to be the most healthy and beautiful baby?
