Salalah
Salalah is an ancestral home to the Sultan Qaboos, the reigning sultan in Oman since 1970. The incredible Qaboos Palace, the epic architecture in the Old Town, known as the Haffa, and Al Baleed Archaeological Site are some iconic places to check when in Salalah. You can also see the beautiful coastal region around Salalah that’s transformed into a green oasis with seasonal waterfalls and streams during the monsoons.
Musandam Fjords
The Musandam Fjords stretch from north and offer spectacular views. If you visit the Musandam Fjords you can check the boat trips to explore the coasts and peaks rising up from the water, spotting dolphins from a Dhow, or traditional Omani boat, and scuba diving out at sea. As the region is scarsely popluted and has some incredibility unique wild life and natural attraction, it’s a must check place for nature lovers.
Wahiba Sands
The one place that’s a heaven for desert lovers. Enjoy the natural space of sand stretched all over the place makes it a beautiful attraction for tourist. The sand safari with camel rides makes it a more enjoyable place to visit.
Nizwa
Nizwa is best known for its incredible fort, which was built in the 17th century under the direction of Sultan Bin Saif Al Ya’ribi. Nizwa fort prides in having an enormous cylindrical tower. The fort is also a museum, showcasing 17th century life in Oman. While you’re in Nizwa, you can also check out the souk, or outdoor market.
Masirah Island
Masirah Island, a unique destination for travelers in search of sun, beaches, wildlife and history. With hardly any population accommodation here, this island gurantees lots to explore under the sun with the sand. Shipping thriugh the ferries and swimming here would be highly enjoyable tourist activities.
Apart from these, Bahla, Jebel Akhdar, Ras al Jinz and Muscat are some captivating places to visit while visiting Oman. This desert beauty though hardly explored by travellers has some amazing locations to die for!
